I own and operate a small pet grooming service, in business for
11 years (as of July 1996).
We specialize in customized grooming; that is, we take into
consideration how a customer may want to modify his/her dog's look, whether or
not it is contrary to standard groom for that particular breed (although I
would much rather groom to breed standards). We are accomplished in scissor
skills and always strive for a picture perfect look. WE CARE FOR AND ABOUT YOUR
PET.

We would appreciate contact from anyone who is interested in sharing
any grooming experiences (whether on the giving or receiving end), from those
who are considering a grooming business of their own (maybe we could share
ideas), or from anyone who has a question regarding grooming tips.
I hope to incorporate photos and details of the exceptional
cases we have had occasion to handle. My intention is to educate the general
public as to the problems we encounter, as well to make the aspiring groomer or
groomer novice aware of the challenges he/she will face.
I do not pretend to 'know it all' and cannot possibly cover all
I'd like to convey on these web pages, yet I do feel I have something to offer
the general public on the topic of pet grooming. There will always be pets and
they will always require grooming....there is no form of automation known to
man that can replace a dedicated Pet Groomer....and I doubt there ever will be.
Companion animals deserve to be kept neat and clean. As a result, they are more
touchable and better loved, as well as more content and loving. I've
experienced this scenario time and time again: owner with children brings in
family pet, hasn't been groomed in 6-12mos., wrapped in towel, absolutely
disgusting condition!!!....kids wouldn't touch this dog with a 10' pole......we
go to work: clipdown the dog if necessary, pretty him up and voila!, the kids
all clamor to greet him, fight over who will hold him next, and just plain
can't keep their hands off him. Imagine how this must confuse an animal that
wants only to be noticed and loved. A lot of dogs actually become depressed
when left in deplorable condition because no one wants to hug a filthy pup.
So PLEASE, don't be one of those people who banishes his/her pet
to the backyard, giving it about as much respect and attention as your barbeque
grill in wintertime. Love that dog!!! and get him groomed regularly!!
